Description
Empower Your Supervisors: Stop Firefighting and Start Leading
Equip your human services leaders with the essential strategies to move from constant crisis management to intentional, mission-driven leadership. This curriculum focuses directly on transforming supervisory habits to boost productivity, reduce stress, and ensure your agency’s goals are met.
Your supervisors will first learn to become Mission-Oriented by aligning their daily actions with the agency’s mission. They will master skills to Evaluate Time & Prioritize, honestly assessing and eliminating unproductive behaviors. By learning to distinguish between what is truly Important (goal-aligned) and what is merely Urgent (time-sensitive), they can stop falling into a detrimental “reactionary mode”. Supervisors will use the Priority Matrix to proactively schedule important, non-urgent tasks (Quadrant 2) and learn the powerful skill of saying “No” to protect their focus and schedule.
Furthermore, they will learn to Create a Prioritized Work Plan using robust to-do systems, including developing a Master To-Do List and a daily 1-3-5 To-Do List (one big, three medium, five small tasks). By scheduling their “Big Things” like appointments, they will aggressively guard their time against non-essential demands. Finally, the course provides practical tools to Organize Your Workspace—from managing physical clutter using the four choices for paperwork (Toss, Route, Act, or File) to applying email productivity hacks like OHIO (Only Handle It Once) and The 4 D’s, alongside clearing computer clutter. This course includes promoting essential Self-Care Habits like Sleep Optimization, Time Blocking of personal activities, and utilizing Mental Relaxation Techniques to prevent burnout. This training provides the practical foundation for clear-minded, effective, and sustainable supervisory success.
