Take-and-Teach Curriculum

Materials for use by agencies in delivering mandatory annual DSP refresher training.

Includes a PowerPoint presentation with updated instructor notes, an Instructor Manual, a Student Manual, and a certificate of annual training completion.

Agencies will receive an electronic version of all materials, along with a printed/bound Instructor Manual and one Student Manual. Additional printed copies are available for an added fee.

This course satisfies the annual DSP training requirement by teaching and reinforcing essential competencies, health and safety practices, rights, documentation standards, and agency-specific responsibilities. It is designed to ensure DSPs maintain compliance, refresh critical skills, and remain current with DODD expectations.

The Academy has expanded the department-provided curriculum by adding enhanced instructor notes and supplementary engagement activities throughout the curriculum designed to deepen understanding and support practical application. All topics required annually by DODD for agency providers are included.

These materials are recommended, though not required, for use with the Academy 90 Day Orientation workbooks, and the employee coaching workbooks available separately.
